A Georgia native, Jan Reavis has been nurturing his fascination with metal work since 2001. From his first project – a gate for his wife – he has enjoyed blending technique and tools to create works of art. Jan allows the steel to develop its form as the process of cutting and joining the sheets occurs. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, drawn and cut free hand, ensuring there is no danger of finding a duplicate. Jan is an avid scooterist and collects vintage Vespas. A stay-at-home father to his 3-year old son, Jan has never had any formal art training, he just makes what he likes. “I am hesitant to refer to myself as an artist,” says Reavis. “I am a husband and a father. Everything I am able to do now is directly linked to the support and love of my family.”
